Welcome to Chelwood Parish Council website.

Within this site you can find contact details for the Parish Councillors and Parish Clerk, together with details of future meetings, the agenda for those meetings and the minutes of our latest meetings. There is up to date news on issues affecting the village and links to useful websites.

The parish has an electoral roll of approximately 120 residents. The council has five members, who each represent the whole village. The present Parish Council was elected in 2015 to serve for four years. For a list of contact details for Councillors and for B&NES Council Office please click here.

Parish Council Meetings

The full council meets approximately once every three months. Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings, and may express their views to the council before the start of meetings of the full council. All meetings of the Council are advertised on the Parish Council notice board by School Lane, and the Events Diary.

The Parish Council is responsible for local matters and can advise Bath & North East Somerset council on e.g. planning applications, overgrown vegetation and signage.

To raise any matters of concern with the parish council, you may:

  • Email the clerk to the council Carolyn Beecroft at chelwood.parish.council@gmail.com
  • Phone her on 01761 490174
  • Phone the chairman, Pete Sherborne, on 01761 490586
  • Attend any council meeting. Scheduled meetings are held every three months, on the first Monday of the month from 7:00 or 7:30pm at the village hall. You will be invited to speak before the start of the meeting under ‘public submissions’

The Parish Plan

The Parish Plan was adopted by the Council in October 2012. The Plan sets out the Council’s vision for the future of the village and some of the goals that it seeks to achieve in the coming years. Hard copies of the plan can be obtained from the Clerk (see above) – or you can download the Plan for free here. Parish Plan .
